Is the connection to this website secure?

Yes, the entire communication (in both directions) between your browser and our servers is encrypted by the TLS (former versions were known as SSL) protocol using a 2048 bit sized key. We are constantly updating our servers including the version of the TLS protocols.

What does that mean in simple terms?

Nobody looking at the communication between your device (computer, smartphone, tablet...) and our servers can read the data. All one could see would be the fact that you are in deed communicating with our servers. Never will your medical data or any other personal information be transmitted in cleartext (without encryption). Keep in mind that this is also the case for the rescue page. Nobody will be able to bypass this encryption - every page of QR-Help is secured that way.
